Modeled directly from three pieces of wood, the kit includes a 78.5" top rail with a 5.5" x 5.5" cross section and two support posts measuring 5.25" deep x 5.5" wide x 56" tall. The posts can be trimmed with a diamond-bladed saw for lower fireplace openings. Authentic details include deep weathered woodgrain, tool marks, insect damage, nail holes, saw marks, checks, splits, and character knots.
The Weathered Grey finish captures the look of untreated wood naturally aged by the elements, featuring a pale bluish-grey base with honey-toned patches, charcoal grey shadows, and subtle pale green and cream highlights. Made with non-combustible Burncrete™ casting formulation, this hand-painted surround delivers the beauty of natural wood without splinters.
