How to Measure for Your Fireplace Grate
To find the right fit for your fireplace grate, follow these steps:
1. Measure the Back Width: Use a tape measure to determine the width at the very back of your fireplace. Start as far back as possible for accuracy.
2. Measure the Front Width: Next, measure the width at the front opening of your fireplace.
3. Measure the Depth: Finally, measure the depth from the front to the back of your fireplace.

For the best fit, ensure there is at least 3 inches of clearance on all sides of the grate. To calculate this, subtract 6 inches from both the back width and the depth measurements.

This ensures proper airflow and helps your grate function efficiently by keeping ashes contained and promoting better combustion.
